Clinical Supervision

Supervision is an essential part of ethical therapeutic practice and should offer a reflective space in which to develop practice, uphold clinical standards, gain insight and benefit client experience.

I am a qualified and experienced Clinical Supervisor. I work collaboratively with my supervisees, providing a supportive, resourceful environment to discuss clinical work, explore challenging case material, stimulate creativity, contemplate alternative ways of working, identify areas for professional development, enhance competence, consider self-care and celebrate achievement.

As I work from an integrative perspective, I offer supervision for practitioners who work with a variety of modalities including (but not limited to);

  • Person Centred Approach
  • Humanistic Therapies
  • Integrative Working
  • Positive Psychology and MI
  • Psychodynamic Therapy
  • Trauma Informed Practice
  • Walk and Talk / Eco Therapy
  • Addiction Counselling
  • Developmental Coaching
  • Therapeutic Coaching
  • CBT
  • SFBT
  • ACT
  • TA
  • Systemics
  • Mindfulness
  • Somatic Awareness
  • Play Therapy
  • Creative Working
  • Couples Therapy

I offer clinical supervision to Therapists at all stages of their career, from those beginning their journey as a counsellor in training to experienced qualified practitioners, Coaches using therapeutic modalities and fellow Supervisors supporting individuals and groups.

I provide individual and group supervision to practitioners working in a wide range of settings, with children, young people, adults, couples and families.

Non-Managerial and Consultative Supervision

I also offer non-managerial and consultative supervision to professionals working in other caring and front-line professions, such as Social Services, Human Resources, Rehab Units, Nursing Teams, Educational Services, Emergency Responders and Palliative Care Centres.

Non-Managerial and Consultative Supervision combines support, coaching and mentoring within a safe and confidential space to be listened to and feel heard without judgement, to promote both professional and personal development.

This allows professionals to:-

  • reflect upon the emotional challenges of their role
  • share the holding of specific work being encountered
  • understand reactions and any vulnerabilities to different situations
  • process work undertaken and consider learning points
  • explore any biases that could impact decisions, practices or relationships
  • identify blind-spots and development needs
  • maintain professional and ethical standards of proficiency
  • reinforce importance of healthy boundaries and effective communication
  • monitor and increase emotional resilience, well-being and self-care practices
  • rediscover and develop inner-resource, existing talents and expertise
  • reduce the risk of burnout, vicarious traumatic stress and compassion fatigue
  • ideally remove the possibility of work-related mental health issues.

Supervision sessions can be attended remotely by zoom online video or telephone call (I’m afraid I have no face to face availability at present, very sorry). If you would like to discuss the possibility of us working together, please contact me to arrange a consultation, thank you.

I found our supervision session to be of help with planning the next stages of my work. Sarah demonstrated great tracking skill and was aligned with my goals and what I needed from her.
